This was a dreamy, dreamy day in Burlington, Iowa. Skyler and Lucas married on a very hot Iowa summer day. We started at the Peacock Airbnb where Lucas and the guys were getting ready, and then Skyler’s hotel room. (I could do a whole other blog post on that Airbnb – how gorgeous.) I was actually astonished about how much of Burlington I hadn’t seen. I really thought all there was to Burlington was the “boring” part of town – I had no idea there was such a rich downtown area.

After the getting ready part of the day was over, we headed over to Skyler & Lucas’s newly bought home. I got Lucas ready in their gorgeous backyard – I mean, just look at this brick patio and garden. SO DREAMY. Both of them were so nervous and excited to see one another.

It is this. shit. right. here!!! that makes me so passionate about my photography. (Excuse me while I go cry over the beauty of this moment.)

They had a beautiful ceremony in Crapo Park. It was worth every moment under that humid, scorching sun. We do it for love. We have no choice in Iowa. But luckily, it’s off to the shade and the real show stoppers, these trees quietly existing for hundreds of years.

Now for the BEST part of the day. I cannot get over how dreamy and gorgeous Skyler and Lucas are. We captured all of these in about 15 minutes. They are so beautiful.

We headed back downtown for some wedding party photos and had a bonus stop at the restaurant/bar next door. Burlington, I had no idea you had so much character?!?

The reception took place at Regal on the Hill and was so perfect. It’s an old church with much of the integrity still intact. Their baby boy stole the show during their first dance and he is so adorable. This couple is surrounded with so much love and support, something I enjoy seeing so much during speeches.
