spring garden party in davenport, iowa

I think this is my favorite spring wedding ever! The trees were finally filling in their leaves, the weather was absolute perfection (both of those are rare in the spring, if you know - you know!), and the loveliest couple with the most adoring family and friends. It was truly a joy documenting Ellen and James's wedding day. 

Their ceremony took place at two historic venues: St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Renwick Mansion. I absolutely loved the beautiful church setting, indoors and out front while they received their guests. The two trees in front frame the gorgeous front door so perfectly, makes me wonder if someone planned that years ago when the trees were planted or when the church was built. 

Of course, the Renwick Mansion is full of its own character as well! I love the lush green yard, it was just perfect for the garden party. The mansion itself is full of surprises and delights, it's always fun to shoot there.
