In-home newborn family sessions are so sweet and rewarding to capture. As a mom myself, I am so honored to be able to document these moments. I was 20 when I had my first baby and I was working at a gas station. I didn't have money to spend on a session fee, let alone be able to actually afford to print, frame and hold these photos in my hands afterward. I love that now I get to do that for others and I try to capture as many little details as I can.
We all know how fast babies change and grow, but truly, it's real. I recommend scheduling newborn portrait sessions for within two weeks of your baby being born. Sometimes that means I'm 'on call' in a way. We talk about when you expect Baby to be born, we may schedule a tentative date, but often that gets rescheduled. Or we schedule after he/she is born. For an in-home session, I always also ask you what time of day your home is filled with the most light. That's usually around 10am for most homes, but it's important we have the most light we can get coming in through the windows.
If you have a cute home like this family, that's amazing and I can't wait to see the character and charm! If not, that's okay, too. Don't let that hold you back from booking an in-home session. There's always something we can work with.
