Sometimes you meet a couple and you just immediately connect deeply with them. Julie & Christopher are one of those couples for me.
We had their engagement session in 2022 at their venue, Oak Hill Farm in Apple River, near Galena, Illinois. We had the best time roaming around and taking beautiful photos because this couple is adorable and this venue is so picturesque. I worked closely with the owner of a wedding venue before running my own business, and let me tell you, Oak Hill Farm is exactly what I had dreamed of creating with the venue.
A sprawling rural oasis with a watercolor map, unique amenities and plenty of trees, nature and even their very own chapel. It's a dream.
Fairy Tale Wedding in Apple River, Illinois
We hung around for a while after finishing our session, talking about mysteries and other topics we all were interested in. These two are both so interesting and fun to be around! Honestly, I love it so much when we can vibe enough to stand around talking for a long time after a session.
Their wedding day was nothing short of magical. Julie wore a gorgeous Anthropologie gown, the most stunning and unique gown I've seen in my 8 years shooting weddings. Her hair was perfection, braided in a single thick plait down her back with flowers weaved in.
They married in the woodland forest with sun-dappled light glittering all around. They had a beautiful choreographed first dance and the biggest, happiest smiles I've ever seen. Everything was so beautiful about this day. I'm just so honored that I get to experience & witness these incredible wedding days filled with love and light and magic like this.
